Outside, steps lead from your terrace to the garden and swimming pool(approx 11x7mtrs Canoeing on the Dordogne is fun ,safe and not expensive.mini buses take you and you’re hired canoe up river and you canoe at your own leisure back to your car. We usually take a picnic, eat it on the banks of the Dordogne and make a day of it. We have a couple of mountain bikes for hire if you are feeling energetic. There is a horse riding school on the edge of the village, and the hiking is realy good. |
This part of France is criss crossed with Grand Randonees (way marked long distance footpaths) you can wander all day with hardly ever seeing a road or a car.

Cahors is a beautiful medieval city and Rocamadour (right), the second most visited site in France is only half an hours drive away. From Cahors you can travel up river to the totally unspoilt village of St Cirq La Popie. Then of course there is Sarlat and the Dordogne with beautiful villages and chateaux too numerous to mention. Of course sitting on your own private terrace enjoying the splendid views with a glass of Cahors or a bottle of ice cold beer is highly recommended. RESTAURANTS AND WINE Most of the surrounding villages have café restaurants serving excellent food. Typically a five course lunch with wine costs as little as 65 francs. Dozens of vineyards can be visited and the wine tasted before purchase or you can take your own cubi to the local cave and buy wine en vrac for as little as 7F a litre. |
