The village is 3 miles from the attractive market town of Baugé, and 30 minutes drive from the major centres of Saumur and Angers, and 15 minutes from La Fleche. There is a first class 18 hole golf course, "Le Golf de Pontigné-Baugé", and the local countryside is ideal for walking, cycling and bird watching.

 

There is safe swimming at a number of 'Plans d'eau' nearby. The region, known as the garden of France, is renowned for its many chateaux and vineyards, notably the Saumur 'Method Traditionelle' sparkling wines and Saumur Champigny Houses. All the local towns and many of the villages have excellent, reasonably priced resturants.
