The Gîte is a single-storey dwelling within a pre-revolution "fermette" in the tranquil hamlet of Peussicot, near Genouillé in the Poitou-Charentes area of France. Peussicot is a hamlet of 18 houses, half a mile from the village of Genouillé, which has a fine 13th century church, a school, a bar, a bakers and a hairdressers. Three miles from the village is the market town of Civray, which has markets twice a week, two large supermarkets and plenty of local shops, bars, cafés and restaurants. Civray has a very interesting old church, with an unusual interior. Within a short distance, there are many villages and small towns which are of interest. |
Off-road car parking is available next to the Gîte.
Use of a Laundry Room can be arranged.
We, the owners, Robin & Joy Maddock live on the site, but out of sight from the Gîte!
| The large Living Room is furnished with a large dining table and chairs, a relaxing leather suite (3-seat settee, 2-seat settee and one armchair) and sundry other furniture. This includes two stacking 3-foot divans with spring interior mattresses, which we consider to be more comfortable than any bed-settee. The floor is tiled and part carpeted. The room has plenty of lights and sundry ornaments with curtains at all windows. There is a large wood-burning stove for heating when necessary. | ![]() |
