vast, sandy beaches of the Vendee are backed with fragrant pine forests. Golfers
will find a selection of courses within an hours drive. The Mervent national park
is a short drive, as is the world famous chateau, Le Puy de Fou. The Parc de Pierre
Brun is a super place for children of all ages!!! for a small entry fee a great
day out can be had, on the bumper boats, bouncy castles, crazy golf, mini train
and much much more! The forest surrounding the park is a great place to explore
with a lot of areas for picnics and ball games. Lu? is about ten minutes away
and has a wonderful selection of shops and boutiques, as well as three big hypermarkets.
There are some lovely gardens to visit and a spectacular cathedral. Mareuil sur
Lay, well known for it's production of wines, is just up the road. It is possible
to follow the wine trails, inspect the vineyards and visit the cellars, where
there is always plenty of glasses to try before you buy!!! |
