The hamlet of Les Pouyouleix is near the market town of Thiviers, which itself is between Limoges to the North and Périgueux to the South. In the nearby village of St. Jory de Chalais (2 miles) you will find a post office, a grocer, baker, butcher/charcuterie and two restaurants, while Thiviers (6 miles), a traditional French market town with a big weekly market, has three supermarkets, banks and numerous traditional shops, restaurants, cinema, etc. Périgueux, the capital of the Dordogne, has excellent town-centre shopping, cinemas and several hypermarkets on the outskirts.
