Within the local area there are outdoor tennis courts, an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, canoeing, horse riding and bikes for hire and it is excellent walking country. There is an abundance of fresh water lakes with beaches - swim, picnic sail, or, just relax under the trees and read! If you want to sightsee there is a wealth of old towns to visit - Angouleme, Confolens, La Rochefoucauld,Limoges etc..

Every Sunday morning there is a street market in Roumazieres, about 8 miles away - good fruit and vegetables, cheese, meat and fish stalls; there are also two large National Supermarkets here.

The Gite has 2 terraces, one of which is always in the shade. There is also a large indoor play area with table tennis etc..

There are two Golf courses within an hour's journey - more information is available from the pack in the Gite.

We are less than an hour from Cognac and Jarnac, 2 hours from the Atlantic Coast and just over an hour from Futuroscope in Poitiers. Ther is an excellent variety of local restaurants in the area including one with a "Michelin Rosette" which has recently been written up in the Independent as one of the 50 best value restaurants in the world!
