Panissaud is a 250 year old farmhouse in the heart of the Charente countryside. It has been deemed a listed building by the French government, it being one of the finest examples of a Charentaise farmhouse in the area. The gite is in a tiny hamlet well away from traffic but close to all facilities and is situated on top of a hill with magnificent views overlooking the valley of la Sonette.

| St. Laurent de Ceris is our nearest "town" - about 2 kms away - there are all the usual facilities here, boulangerie/patissierie, supermarket, post office, pharmacy and medical centre. The weather in Charente is almost an exact repeat of the South of France and in the summer months can provide endless sunny days with magnificent clear blue skies. Spring and Autumn are less predictable but are generally glorious, with mild clear days, but obviously with more risk of rain. |
