There is a unique velo rail which is a popular attraction, ideal for discovering the unspoilt countryside towards Coex (8 kms) with its splendid flower gardens, golf course and horse riding facilities.
| The fortress in Commequiers, dating from the 15th century and partly dismantled in 1628, is the scene each summer of a colourful Mediaeval Pagent. The village also boasts a Dolmen and a Menhir. There is a choice of shopping facilities,from the three hypermarkets on the outskirts of Challons (15kms) to the excellent bakeries, delicatessen and market in the village of Commequiers.(5kms), where there is also a variety of bars and restaurants. There are also St Gilles- Croix-de-Vie (16kms) a busy fishing port and St Jean de Monts (28kms) with a choice of sandy beaches and a selection of shops and restaurants, and disc's for the younger sets. Sea fishing trips, boat, bike, surf board and wind surfer hire available.
