Please report any faulty
equipment so it can be remedied immediately.

Bottled gas is used for cooking facilities. The bottles will be full at the start of the holiday. If during your stay the bottle runs out, take the empty to the local supermarket where they can be replaced for full ones for approx £15.
Use of the cooker & how to change the bottles will be explained on arrival.
Wood:
For out of season lets the wood burner in the lounge can be used. Wood will be provided, cut to the right size at a cost of 40€/m3
Water:
This is suitable to drink from the tap.
Septic
Tanks:
Not the nicest subject, but some necessary information must be highlighted.
Due to being in the countryside the property is not on mains sewerage. Septic
tanks work slightly differently in France. Each week a sachet of enzymes need
to be placed down the toilet in order to digest the waste products. If the system
is disrupted in any way it is very costly to rectify the problems. These enzymes
are damaged by certain cleaning chemical therefore for anything you use look for
the logo on packets 'convenient aux fosses septiques'. The enzymes cannot break
down certain types of loo paper (especially the more luxurious products from the
UK) so we will also provide an amount of suitable toilet tissue for your arrival.
Please do not even bring English paper. Again once over here look for product
advertised as 'convenient aux fosses septiques'. Finally please do not place feminine
hygiene products, nappies or any such thing down the toilet as these will not
only immediately block up pipe work, but also cannot be digested by the enzymes.
Please use bins provided.
Health &
Safety
On arrival please familiarise yourself with the accommodation. In side
the property are a number of facilities that may not be as at your own home such
as:
Low beams
Wooden stair case
Wood burner
Tiled floors, linoleum
flooring
Small pond (chained off)
Glass panelled traditional doors as
well as large glass windows
Therefore take extra care and remember children
may be less careful than adults in new surroundings, so please take even more
care with them. Certain items of furniture may not be fire resistant, so for your
safety if smoking or using candles in the house use caution and always ensure
cigarettes are extinguished fully when finished.
The area is quite rural,
but still please look after your belongings & lock the doors when you go out.
General:
We wish you to have a superb holiday. We therefore ask you along with all holiday
makers before & after you, to treat the property with respect in order for
everyone to have a comfortable & enjoyable stay.
We ask you to be careful
as you would at home around gas, electricity, BBQ's etc.
The property will
be clean & tidy on you arrival, so please leave it tidy on you departure.
For any issues that may arise through out your stay do not hesitate to contact
us.
